Kiyoshi Shimizu, Toshi Shimizu’s youngest brother, came to the U.S. in the 1920s. Although his brother Toshi left for France in 1924, Kiyoshi remained in New York City and continued his artistic activities. Kiyoshi Shimizu’s works are set on street corners, and depict the realities of ordinary people living there in the background of his works.
