The Nyū Yōku Shinpō was first published in 1904 as Nyū Yōku Jihō. The first issue after the name change was published on June 22, 1911 and includes an article written by Takamine Jōkichi. The Nyū Yōku Shinpō was considered one of the two major Japanese newspapers in New York until it was discontinued after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
